Régóta terveztem, hogy megcsinálom az íjaknak ezen fajtáját. Sok kudarc és csalódás ért, rá kellett jönnöm, hogy ennek elkészítéséhez a mostani tudásom nem elegendő. Így hát belevágtam a tanulásba. Ezt azonban nem lehet iskolapadban megtanulni, csak és kizárólag a gyakorlatban. Sok-sok íj készült, mire kiforrott, mint egy jó bor. Itt meg kell említenem Molnár László barátomat, aki nagyon sok elméleti segítséget nyújtott, mely tudást a saját tapasztalatai során gyűjtött.

Ez az íj is magyar típusú. Mindenben megfelel a (Keleti Gyepű és a Magyar Íj Alapítvány által meghatározott) magyar típusú íj kategóriának.

Szerkezetében különbözik a gyanta íjaktól, hiszen falapok kerültek összeragasztásra. Természetesen itt is nagy szerepet játszik az üvegszál és műgyanta, mert az íj külső és belső oldalán teljes hosszában végigfut ez a két anyag kombinációja, egy 1 mm-es lap formájában. Ezek össze vannak ragasztva egy bizonyos (titkos) technikával. Ebből a tömbből kerülnek kialakításra az íj karjai és a markolata is, majd ezt követően rákerülnek a szarvak. Az üvegszál és műgyanta áttetsző, így kiadja a falap mintázatát, melyet lehet pácolni, tehát színeket lehet belevinni, megőrizve a fa erezetének csodálatos mintáját. Erősségét tekintve 25#-45# fonterő között készítem.

I had long planned to create this type of bow. I faced many failures and disappointments and came to realize that my knowledge is not enough to complete it. Thus, I fully committed myself to learning. However, this profession cannot be mastered in a conventional classroom, only through practical experience. Many bows were made before the design matured, much like a fine wine. Here, I must mention my friend László Molnár, who generously provided much support based on his own extensive experience.

This bow is Hungarian in style and fully complies with the Hungarian type bow category as defined by the Eastern Border (Keleti Gyepű) and Hungarian Bow Foundation (Magyar Íj Alapítvány).

Its construction differs from resin bows, as it is built from laminated wooden planks. Of course, fiberglass and resin play a crucial role here as well: a 1 mm thick sheet composed of a fiberglass and resin composite runs the full length of the bow’s inner and outer surfaces. These sheets are bonded together using a special (secret) technique. From this laminated block, the limbs and grip are carefully shaped, after which the horn tips are attached.
Because the fiberglass and resin are translucent, the natural wood grain remains visible. The wood can be stained to introduce colors, preserving the beautiful natural grain pattern.
The draw weight range for this bow is between 25 and 45 pounds.
